The preserved body of Sri Ramanujacharya (1017-1137 CE), the great Vaishnavite philosopher who established temple administration.
About Sri Ramanuja (Udaiyavar)
Sri Ramanujacharya, born in 1017 CE in Sriperumbudur, lived for 120 years and attained Paramapada in 1137 CE at Srirangam. His Tirumeni (body) is miraculously preserved in this sannidhi in a standing posture. He established the Pancharatra temple administration system that continues today. The sannidhi has specific darshan timings with pooja intervals.
