புனித தீர்த்தங்கள்
The sacred tanks of Srirangam are arranged like an 8-petaled lotus flower, with Chandra Pushkarani at the center. Bathing in these holy waters is believed to absolve all sins.
ஸ்ரீரங்கத்தின் புனித தீர்த்தங்கள் எட்டு இதழ்களுடன் கூடிய தாமரை மலர் போன்று அமைந்துள்ளன. சந்திர புஷ்கரணி மையத்திலும், மற்ற தீர்த்தங்கள் எட்டு திசைகளில் இதழ்களாகவும் உள்ளன.

Chandra (Moon God), cursed by Kashyapa Rishi to lose his brilliance, bathed in this tank and worshipped Lord Ranganatha. He regained his radiance and installed the Punnai tree on the tank's bank. Vyasa Bhagavan also resides on its bank.
காஸ்யப மகரிஷியினால் சாபம் பெற்று தன் ஒளியிழந்த சந்திரன் இந்தப் புஷ்கரணியில் நீராடி ஸ்ரீரங்கநாதரை வழிபட்டு மீண்டும் ஒளி பெற்றார். புன்னை மரத்தை சந்திரனால் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டது. வியாசர் பகவான் இதன் கரையில் எழுந்தருளியிருக்கிறார்.

எல்லா தீர்த்தங்களிலும் முதன்மையானதும் தலைசிறந்ததும். இதில் நீராடினால் எல்லாப் பாவங்களும் தீரும். மற்ற 8 தீர்த்தங்கள் தாமரை மலர் இதழ்கள் போல் இதைச் சுற்றி அமைந்துள்ளன. இங்கே தில (எள்ளு) தானம் மிகச் சிறப்புடையது.
