About
The main deity, Lord Ranganatha, reclines on Adisesha facing south with his head towards west. This is the largest reclining Vishnu idol in India, measuring about 6 meters. The Lord is in Yoga Nidra (divine sleep) posture.
Significance
One of the 108 Divya Desams. First among the 8 Swayam Vyakta Kshetras. The largest functioning Hindu temple in the world.
